Artist Statement
Growing up as a transexual in a college town in North Central Florida, I lived in fantasies that helped me escape my reality. Even after leaving, those fantasies never left me, soon becoming the raw material of my work, shaping how I see, and want to see, the world. I construct my reality with images, sounds, and experiences that feed my bias toward passion, fashion, and artistry. Through a performative ego, I present my image and actions as non-performative: broadening integrity by exposing the illusion of ego itself. Fantasy and performance are no longer escapes for me, but instead the foundation of both my work and my understanding.
